The Mission

It is my sincere passion to share what I have learned about how living with an addict can be a very powerful launching pad for personal growth. My story is probably very similar to yours. I have served many clients who have learned from their own struggles and then soared to new heights of peace and prosperity
. So can you.

Codependent or Compassionate?

There is a lot of confusion and baggage around the label "Codependent" and for that reason I don't use it often. Instead, we focus on the individual behaviors that you would like to change. We start by creating a new awareness of your patterns and a very honest assessment of what's working for you and what's not.

Typically, living with an alcoholic causes us to put ourselves and our needs second. We are extremely compassionate about the suffering of the addict. We wear ourselves out taking care of everything and even assume responsibility for the addiction recovery program.
We tiptoe around in fear and get lost in obsession about our addict's behavior. Living with an addict is like being strapped to a bomb and causes huge stresses to our physical, mental, and emotional health.

If this sounds like you, here is what you need to know:

You can change even if your addict doesn't.

A painful relationship offers a chance for profound healing. As you free yourself from feelings of despair and hopelessness, you can break life-long patterns that have held you captive.  As you discover your lessons and apply them, you reclaim your power and joy. You stand taller. You see clearly. You laugh again. You create. You love yourself and others more fully.

This work requires a dramatic shift in your responses, in your habits of thought, and in your beliefs about yourself and your situation. Coaching offers education and support as you make these life-affirming changes.

Through individual coaching or the Journey to Self course, you will learn to:

  • Focus on you.
  • Safely vent your anger.
  • Release limiting beliefs.
  • Respond rather than react.
  • Recognize destructive patterns in yourself and others.
  • Forgive for your own sake.
  • Decipher the language of emotion.
  • Stay true to yourself during crisis.
  • Lovingly detach from your addict.
  • Take radical personal responsibility for yourself.
  • Trust in a higher power.
  • Attract the life you want.
